The Lenexa BBQ 2010
Well the Lenexa BBQ has come and gone and it was crazy. Maybe the Hottest year in recent memory. We rarely left the safty of our Camper "Bessie". She has 2 AC units in her and due to a generous contribution by my friend Randy, we had a Generator to run them and keep her cold. Without her we would have been hotter then the food on the Smoker.
Team 161 did not do as well as we have in other recent competitions, but we are still happy (just not satisfied). The Best Score we put together was for our Sausage. This year we really concentrated on Presentation. It is a score that should be 9's across the board.
When the Sun went down and the Parties started, it was fun to have people sign our Smoker. People love to do it and it gave us some idea of how many people we had coming around. The Party was good and everyone had a great time like always.

Lill John gets em topless ..again
It's been too log since I blogged. So I had to start with this. I had the misfortune of being sucked into the Jones Pool experience this past Saturday instead of bar-b-qing at Rocks. It smelled like Aqua-de-Gio and desperation. I think I got scabies from the water. If you look closely here is a shot of a chick who took it literally when little John told em to "get naked Kansas City".-KC

BBQ Saturday at Rocks...
With the Lenexa BBQ in less then a week, we needed to do a pre-smoke. 6 Slabs of Ribs and 2 Briskets. Ribs were phenomenal like always. But the story of this BBQ is that we now have a winning Brisket recipe. Thanks to Rocky for the Soccer madness and Bags Games!

Taste our balls...
Raytown State Championship June 12, 2010
Smokin on Cloud 9 braved the heat and monsoons to take 6th in Sausage for those savory smoked sausage balls. One very rotund woman from the competition actually said during the awards ceremony "...you had some great sausage balls." then later added num num num num num.... SOC9 also came in 20th for ribs. Good work fellas.

Maddy goes camping
Thankyou to 1 Jeff "Adrock" Adamic for the donation of the silver bullet to the campsite. Formally known as Kiekel Kampground but now referred to as 161 Kamptown.With all the smoke we inhale at the campsite it's only fitting that now some of it is bbq smoke.
We smoked these beautiful ribs without the benefit of gauges and an hour and half trip to the beach. A little crispy at first but an hour of steam and walla breakfast ribs are served. Thanks again to Web, Johnny and Mulsow for all there hard work, and thanks again Mr. Jeff Adamic for the smoker and the use of your Bose music player with Ipod.

Memorial Day BBQ at Rocks...
Rocky had another delicious BBQ this past weekend. The usual meats...Ribs, Brisket and Pork. As always, the meat was amazing. Adamic is always a generous host with all the meats and good times.
161 Find Of The Week...
I have an inhaler from when I had Pneumonia. Pulled it out of the drawer the other day and noticed it had the number of the Gods on it.

Jamaica NO Mistaica
We are finally here. Days away from the KIKI Train. Make sure you bring the papers that Pam emailed, it has the info for our transportation to and from Negril. Cheers
